The importance of an Archive, I walk past this building quite often and until a few weeks ago never new its history. A bit of research and a lot information from the (Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust) I found out more.
Padstow airfield located at Porthmissen near Crugmeer, the airfield was a WW1 RAF marine anti submarine airfield which housed a WW1 Bi Plane used for locating German U-boats off the North Cornwall Coast. It had an unpaved runway and was in operation between 1918 – 1919 it is now disused and area used as farmland.
