The Beauty of Erosion

The coastline of North Cornwall is dramatic, thanks to the high-energy waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

Walking the South West Coastal Path. The beauty of natural erosion was on full display on this overcast morning at Booby’s Bay The rock and land features here have been carved by eons of relentless exposure to the harsh coastal environment–a fine example of nature’s incredible artwork.

But such beauty has a twist.

Coastal erosion is a process that causes the breaking down and removal of natural materials along a coastline, through storms, flooding, strong waves, and other environmental factors. These factors wear away at cliffs, bluffs and beaches, changing the landscape on a continuous basis.
