Well its that time of year again when the family pack away all their luxuries and head of to one of the far flung corners of the earth, this year we have chosen to visit Exmoor.
Our usual venue for the annual trip is Dartmoor but after talking to a friend who goes to Exmoor every year, we decided to give it a try. We didn’t know much about Exmoor and we weren’t disappointed Exmoor is beautiful, totally different than Dartmoor. Dartmoor is dramatic where Exmoor is soft with rolling hills and ancient woodland which edge their way down to the coast.
Two people made this holiday a great experience. I’ll come to the other person in a different post, but for this post that person is Charles.
Charles and his family own Brightlycott Barton farm and campsite which is a few miles outside Barnstaple and has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. The campsite is a small friendly family run business and Charles is a very happy farmer, he was always walking around the campsite talking to the campers and after one heavy downpour Charles came around and I asked him what the next few days’ forecast was, to which he replied who knows, WEATHERS, WEATHER.
So a big thank you to Charles for keeping a magnificent campsite keep up the good work.
